Hey there, Kristin Adams here! TV host, producer, live event emcee, and the girl who famously fell down during her American Idol audition.
If you talk to my mom and ask where I got my start in entertainment, chances are she’ll tell you about time I was 7 years old and sang, “Grandpa, Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days ” in honor of my grandpa’s birthday for a bustling crowd of 50 people in the local church dining hall. Per usual, Mom’s probably right, because since then I’ve always felt at home on stage - talking, performing, and interacting with crowds.
It wasn’t long after my church hall debut that I landed my first professional break as a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. Not long after performing under the bright lights of Texas Stadium, I stepped onto national television as a Top 30 finalist on the first season of Fox’s American Idol—auditioning in my hometown of Dallas.
My “15 minutes of fame” came with an unexpected twist: I famously slipped on camera while running to the judges’ table after advancing to the next round. Ironically, I had just auditioned with Alicia Keys’ “Fallin’.”
After making it to the Top 30 on the first season of Fox’s American Idol, I was eliminated when the show narrowed to its final 10. Not ready to walk away, I called the executive producers and asked for a hosting opportunity on Season 2.
To my surprise, they said yes—and within days I was on a plane to the first audition city, stepping into co-hosting and correspondent duties alongside Ryan Seacrest.
I filmed across the audition tour, but by the time the season aired, most of my segments were ultimately cut from the final broadcast. So while I didn’t return as a contestant, I also didn’t quite make the final edit as a host either.
It was an early lesson in TV: sometimes you get the job… and still don’t make the cut. And you learn to keep going anyway.
My experience on Idol afforded me the opportunity to launch a television hosting career in Hollywood. I had the incredible privilege to work on various pop-culture and entertainment shows across networks like G4TV, Speed Channel, E!, TV Guide, Starz!, USA, and AT&T U-verse Buzz. Some of my most memorable days working as a host and correspondent include a behind-the-scenes special look at Sesame Street, red-carpet world premieres of movies likes Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, and The Dark Knight, and some of the most iconic film festivals and fan conventions like Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, SXSW, and San Diego Comic Con.
Most recently, I’ve expanded into executive producing and hosting red carpet coverage for TBN, the GMA Dove Awards, and the K-LOVE Fan Awards.
It’s been a wild ride thus far, and I’m excited to continue hosting and producing entertaining content for networks and companies that share the same goals - to uplift, inspire, and have some fun along the way!
Much love,
K
